Description

Salvia nemorosa Ostfriesland is a compact, fully hardy perennial which flowers all summer long. The deep violet blue flowers have pink bracts and attract pollinators and are a valuable source of food for many insects. Remove flowers as they begin to go over to maximise the flowering period. It is an excellent plant for the front of borders as well as planters / troughs / window boxes.

In harsher winters this hardy perennial will die right down to ground level but will return with fresh growth in the spring. The plant will appreciate a mulch of well rotted compost / manure in the early spring.
