Description
Oregano Bristol Cross is a very ornamental oregano hybrid which is still worthy of the kitchen garden as the leaves have an excellent flavour. It grows as a small, mound-forming, evergreen or semi-evergreen sub shrub and the leaves can take on an attractive bronze tint. Being ornamental it makes a welcome addition to rockeries and the front of borders. It bears purple-pink flowers in abundance from mid-late summer into autumn. The leaves dry well for culinary use or can, of course, be picked as required.
A hardy plant which should survive normal winter conditions outside, especially with protection from the hardest frosts. If grown in pots it is recommended to place in a sheltered position for the winter.
