Description
The Gallery Series of Lupins are truly exceptional plants. They are reliable and fully hardy and can eventually produce up to 12 or more flower spikes above attractive palmate green leaves per compact plant. The traditional flowering period is June to July but we regularly have them in flower here in Lincolnshire until the 1st frosts. The flowers are predominantly pure white but can have tinges of cream or green. We recommend staking the flower spikes in exposed positions as they can easily be broken. Deadheading the finished spikes will encourage repeat flowering.
Lupins prefer a well drained but moisture retentive, slightly acidic, sandy soil but tend to grow in most soils/positions. They are a classic plant for cottage gardens, patios and containers, herbaceous borders and they make an excellent cut flower. Lupins also grow well in coastal gardens. The Gallery Series Lupins also make an excellent center plant for large planters.
No part of the plant is edible (it is TOXIC to humans & pets) and it can be an irritant for some people so it is recommended to wear gloves whilst handling.
