Description

This beautiful small, hardy shrub deserves greater recognition. It forms a much branching, small shrub with small, aromatic leaves. Purple Blue flowers are borne throughout the summer and autumn. The long flowering season and intensity of the flower colour makes this hardy Salvia deserves a place in every garden. In milder areas it is evergreen but will become deciduous in colder regions. It is native to limestone canyons in Texas and New Mexico and in Mexico and beyond. Despite this, it grows well in most locations (avoid winter wet) and soil types.

It adds late summer and autumn interest to patio areas when grown in pots where the flowers and fragrant foliage can be fully enjoyed.
