Description

A beautiful small alpine plant from central Spain. It thrives on most soil types, especially poor, well drained soil in exposed conditions. It is an excellent plant for rockeries, path edges, etc as well as for pot culture in alpine houses. Makes an excellent, compact plant for the show-bench. These qualities were recognised by the RHS who have given Armeria juniperifolia their Award of Garden Merit.

The dense, compact mat of grey green needle-like leaves (hence juniperifolia) are evergreen and the pink flowers are on short stems. The flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies.
