Description
Agapanthus africanus ‘Albus’ is a beautiful white variety of African Lily which is very attractive to butterfies. The narrow, erect green leaves can be deciduous or evergreen and the beautiful trumpet-shaped white flowers appear in summer to early autumn.
Perfect for brightening up your borders or beds, and they also make excellent plants in pots on the patio as well as providing showy cut flowers. It brings a touch of the exotic to cottage gardens and and patios
This hardy Lily of the Nile is drought tolerant and will tolerate partial shade although it prefers full sun. If growing in pots we find they prefer to be a little constricted in the pot so do not pot on too often. In the hardest of winters, pot grown plants would benefit from being moved to a sheltered location or into a cold greenhouse. Plants in he ground would appreciate a mulch in the hardest winters. Over the years agapanthus plants can form quite large clumps with multiple stems per clump. They prefer a light, humus rich, well drained soil.
