Description

Swiss mint is a fully hardy, naturally occurring cross between watermint and spearmint. It has a sharp, strong peppermint flavour making it perfect for culinary use in both sweet and savoury recipes. An excellent variety for making herbal tea. Throughout summer it produces lilac flowers which are very attractive to pollinators. Once it has finished flowering we recommend cutting it down to about 5cm high to promote new growth and keep it tidy. As with most mints, we would recommend growing it in containers to prevent it becoming invasive.

A hardy plant which should survive normal winter conditions outside, especially with protection from the hardest frosts. If grown in pots it is recommended to place in a sheltered position for the winter.
