Lincoln Farmers Market
Hope you can come and join us at the Lincoln Farmers Market in the historic setting of uphill Lincoln. The market can be found at Castle Square between Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral. As well as a variety of fantastic local producers, the Bailgate shopping area and Steep Hill, are full of independent shops, bars and restaurants.
Every month Spring to Autumn we will have a different selection of locally grown hardy garden plants including many unusual and hard to get varieties. We mainly grow alpines, herbaceous perennials and edibles but also have shrubs, bedding plants, tomato & chilli plants etc depending on the time of year. Late summer onwards we also sell bags of top grade spring flowering bulbs. Our bulbs are a higher grade, which are larger and will produce better results than the ones stocked in supermarkets and most garden centres but are still very affordable.
Everything we sell is grown hard, outside, here in Lincolnshire, so you can be assured they will thrive in your garden as long as you provide the right situation (sun/shade/etc). Details are included on every label. We are also very happy to offer advice and have a chat in quieter moments!
You may not be familiar with the tomato varieties we offer. We have carefully selected varieties from around the world which are suited to our climate but still have exceptional flavour, etc. As you may not be familiar with them we have detailed the unusual ones on our website and included a QR code on the label to take you to the correct page. Unfortunately some varieties are in exceptionally limited quantities. We also have created a guide to growing tomatoes.
We have also created a variety specific guide for most of the chilli plants we will be selling this year as again, you may not be familiar with the varieties we have selected.
If you think it all sounds like hard work, it really can be very enjoyable and the satisfaction you get from eating food you have grown is very rewarding. The flavour and vitamin content is also much higher than supermarket bought fruit and veg.
